Symptom side effects of taking diet pill with synthroid?

I have just increased my dosage of thyroxine to.175mgs. I have hypothyroidism. And I was also taking exterem metabo life diet pills. I then start to notice that under my eye on top of the cheek area was really puffy. It flucates. It does not respond to cold packs .I was wondering if the diet pills in conjunction with synthroid might be the reason for the swelling. Or am I just getting old and need a face lift? I just turned 38. If it's do to age can someone suggest something natural to get rid of the puffiness and swelling? Something non-evasive.
