Why is there a hairy in my chimney?

so like i was making a fire in the chimney and i looked up and i saw this hairy and i took it down and its not fake or anything it looks kind of real so im kind of freaked out if this helps i live in a weird neighborhood so maybe someone stuck it in there? anyways should i call the police
